Lilit Houlder, MPlanPlanner Lilit joined Invistec in 2020, shortly after graduating from the School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape (SAPL)’s Master of Planning program at the University of Calgary. During this time, Lilit served as the President of the SAPL Student Association and was involved in planning several faculty-led events, such as the Affordable Housing Conference. Prior to completing her Master’s degree, Lilit earned a B.A. at the University of Alberta, majoring in Human Geography, in addition to pursuing the Architectural Technology program at NAIT. Becoming aware of how people are substantially influenced by their environment, Lilit was inspired to pursue a career in designing spaces for people. During her academic pursuits, Lilit worked in both public and private sectors, allowing her to develop skills in urban design, as well as planning policy. Her experience includes two planning internships with the City of Edmonton’s Sustainable Development Department, a summer internship with a boutique planning firm in Calgary, and work as a technologist in a local architecture firm. Lilit’s diverse experience has given her a well-rounded perspective and understanding of priorities for both the public and private sectors when executing successful projects. In addition, Lilit values interdisciplinary collaboration and has formal training in leadership and intercultural communications from the University of Alberta. Apart from being involved with the local planning community, Lilit dedicates her time to photography, exercising, hiking, and is an advocate for good fashion. |
