The Joussard ASP repealed and updated the original Area Structure Plan that was adopted in 2001. The intent behind this project was to review the ASP against the County's newly updated Municipal Development Plan and Land Use Bylaw to ensure its conformance. The Hamlet of Joussard was built on the booming industries in the area and became a northern Alberta attraction due to its views of Lesser Slave Lake and its flourishing fishing industry. Today, Joussard remains a tourist attraction for northern Alberta and local hub for educational and commercial services.
